Thank you for considering volunteering with SHE SHED and being part of our mission to empower the next generation of female leaders in STEM! We welcome parents, community members, and STEM enthusiasts to share their skills and passion with us. Below is some information about our volunteer application process:

Our Process

  • Application Submission

To get started, please complete the volunteer application form available on our website. Provide your contact information, relevant experience, and reasons for wanting to volunteer with SHE SHED. Feel free to share any specific skills or passions you have that you believe would benefit our participants.

  • Background Check

For the safety and security of our participants, all volunteers are required to undergo a background check. This is a standard procedure to ensure that we maintain a safe and supportive environment for everyone involved.

  • Interview

Once your application is received, our volunteer coordinator will review your information and may reach out to schedule an interview. This interview provides an opportunity for us to get to know you better, discuss your interests and motivations for volunteering, and determine how your skills align with our volunteer opportunities.

  • Training

Selected volunteers will undergo training to familiarize themselves with SHE SHED's mission, values, and programs. This may include orientation sessions, mentorship training, and specific program training based on your role and responsibilities.

  • Volunteer Placement

Based on your skills, interests, and availability, we will work with you to determine the best volunteer placement within SHE SHED. Whether it's assisting with hands-on activities, mentoring participants, or supporting administrative tasks, there are various ways to contribute to our organization.

  • Onboarding

Before officially starting your volunteer role, you will complete an onboarding process that includes signing necessary agreements, familiarizing yourself with our policies and procedures, and getting acquainted with our team and participants.
